Mind like space! In this workshop Joe will discuss the mind and its tendencies, why we experience stress and upset and the benefits of Shamata meditation and how to practise it.
There will be exercises to explore and experience the mind and Joe will teach the three core phases of meditation along with qualities we can utilise to develop our practice.
There will be helpful advice on how to deal with distractions during meditation and how to establish a daily practice, as well as how to bring mindfulness into our lives. During the session Joe will lead a guided Shamata meditation. There will also be time for discussion, questions and answers.
Joe has taught meditation classes to a variety of organisations. His dad introduced him to Zen meditation in 1999 and he was first introduced to Tibetan meditation techniques in 2001 after a head injury.
